La Certosa di Trisulti The residence of the Saint

Set amidst verdant woods at the foot of Mount Rotonaria, la Certosa di Trisulti was founded by Pope Innocent III in 1204 and is home to a Cistercian monastic community. Its most precious treasure is the historical Herbal Pharmacy of the 1600s, where you can admire the many majolica vases which were used to store spices, ointments, medicines and drugs; Innocent III's Palace and the Church dedicated to St. Bartholomew date from the 12th Century.

Next to the church are the small and large Cloisters which lead to the 17th century Refectory.
